Frequently Asked Questions

What is your wedding photography style?

My style is a combination of photojournalism, fashion, and traditional wedding photography. I seek to tell the story of your wedding day in an emotionally compelling way. My photography captures your personality, your emotions, your day. Everything from the smallest details of the rings to the once in a lifetime moments are documented in an artful way. I have individual consultations with all of my wedding couples to find out their photography needs and wants. I will give you a great variety of images that tell the story and capture the beauty and emotion of your wedding day.

How much do your packages cost?

My wedding photography packages range from $2,495 to $5,595 for weddings in Western Washington. Destination Wedding start at $3,495 plus travel expenses and go up from there. The price rage depends on the amount of photography time as well as the products that you would like in your package. Additional items like albums, coffee table books, DVD slideshows, engagements sessions, retouched images and print credit are available either in a package or a la carte.

What do your packages include?

All wedding photography packages include Digital Negatives, Online proofing and Online Slideshow for viewing for your friends, family and you. Basic wedding coverage starts at 5 hours and goes to unlimited time. Wedding albums, DVD Slideshows, Two Photographers and Engagement Sessions are available with certain packages or can be added on to any of our packages.

How do I choose the package that's right for me?

Finding the package that?s right for you depends on several factors. How much photography time do you need? Do you want more than one photographer? Are you interested in wedding albums or a DVD slideshow? Do you want to have an engagement session? At Rubin Photography we will do our best to help you find the perfect wedding photography package. If one of our packages doesn?t suit your needs we are happy to customize a package to make it a perfect fit for you and your budget.

What is a DVD slide show?

The DVD Slideshows are one of our most requested wedding products. I take the best 100-200 images from your wedding and set them to your favorite music. The DVD has different chapters, for example: Getting Ready, Formals, Ceremony, and Reception. I zoom and pan on these images and cut them to the music to make a beautiful and emotional way to remember your wedding day. They make great gifts for parents, family and friends.

How many images do you take at a wedding?

The number of images taken at a wedding depends on the length of photography coverage. On average I shoot anywhere from 800-3000 images. I edit them down and show you the best 500-1000 images that tell the story of your wedding day. I capture everything from the smallest detail of your flowers to all of the different moments of your day.

After my wedding how long until I see the images?

The online slideshow is available in 2-3 weeks from your wedding date. All of the images will be online and the digital negatives will be ready 5-12 weeks after your wedding. Albums and DVD slideshow are available 7-20 weeks after you place your order.

Do you shoot more than one wedding a day?

No, I only shoot one wedding per day so that I can focus on capturing your day perfectly.

Do you have backup equipment?

When I photograph your wedding I bring lots of backup equipment. I am always prepared with everything from backup cameras to lens and flashes. So you can rest assured that I will capture every moment of your wedding, even if there is a problem with an item of equipment. (It happens very rarely but part of being a professional photographer is always being prepared.)

Do you shoot digitally?

I shoot with top of the line Canon digital equipment. Shooting digitally provides exceptionally high quality images while allowing room for tons of creativity both in shooting your wedding and in working with the images in postproduction after your wedding day. I spend an average of 40 hours per wedding working and perfecting the wedding images.

Do you shoot in black and white or color, or both?

I shoot all images in a format that allows me to convert images to black and white, color and other effects after the wedding.
